44. Chakras

The spiritual philosophers call it the ‘Super Conscious’ State or the ‘God’ State, but we’ll prefer, the ‘Energy’ State. It is the state where we don’t employ the 5 senses to study energy (and time) but the sixth sense, the sense of reason, and consciousness itself directly.

The human chakra system is a well-known theory of how our physical body and soul balance together for our consciousnesses to function effectively. Though many see it as a myth, the science involved in the system and its operation is quite simple. We are now used to the facts that our bodies have 2 major components, the physical body and the astral body. Our soul or the energy field is in constant fluctuation. And both the bodies balance together for our effective functioning.

Though our energy field is evenly spread throughout the physical body, it has a focal point inside it from which it spreads across evenly. We can find this point by dividing the human body, length, breadth and height wise, symmetrically. If drawn as lines along our bodies, the symmetrically dividing lines meet up at the base of the torso, at a point midway between the gonads and the anus. We can also find that this point lies at the base end of the spinal cord. The concentration of energy at this point is relatively higher than the other regions of the physical body, and it usually remains unnoticed.

The energy concentrated at this point is named Kundalini energy. The point where Kundalini energy lies dormant is called the Root chakra, the first of 7 chakras in the human chakra system. The second chakra or the Spleen chakra is midway between the first and the navel. This chakra is connected with our adrenal glands present above the kidneys just as the first chakra is connected with our reproductive glands, testes and ovaries. The third chakra lies around the navel region around the pancreas and is called the Solar Plexus chakra.

Now, each of our chakras, upon activation, give us a few enhanced abilities, the second chakra is known for extra sensory perception (ESP), while the third chakra helps with astral projection, clairvoyance and telepathy (ESP is cool, by the way!). The fourth chakra lies midway between the throat and the heart, right around the thymus gland and it is named the Heart chakra. The fifth chakra can be seen in our throats with the thyroid and parathyroid glands. It is named to be the Throat chakra.

The sixth and one of the most important chakras lies in the middle of the forehead, between our eyebrows. The Third Eye chakra is aligned with the master gland of our body, the pituitary gland. This chakra is known well as the mind’s eye.

The seventh and final chakra is located at the top of our heads sitting in line with our pineal gland, and it is named the Crown chakra. Also called the Conarium, the pineal gland keeps working from the centre of our brains.
