The Reality of Siddhas
The Siddha philosophy considers the basis for all reality to be the primordial energy that pervades the universe and beyond!
By primordial energy, they mean the energy that forms the base for the formation of matter which ultimately resulted in the evolution of ‘life’ and ‘consciousness.’ It is the very energy that is spoken about in sciences, that gave rise to the universe as we know it and it is the very energy that is explained in Einstein’s equation of mass-energy equivalence.
We must keep in mind that the Siddha philosophy has been in place for more than 2000 years, and the developments in modern sciences can be confined majorly to the last century. The techniques used in the research by Yogic philosophers and Siddhas (which involved introspection of the human mind) to understand the source of reality and ‘the energy,’ are not generally considered scientific, but they are.
The Primordial Energy
The formation of matter and existence of the universe in the present state have been explained by the Siddhas in a very dynamic way. The theory goes as such. Reality, which includes our universe, is filled with energy in its pure state. By pure, we mean its initial form and not its transformed state, that is, matter. This energy can’t be seen or visualised but only felt by ‘consciousnesses.’
With all the scientific and technological developments today, we have so far defined energy as the capacity to do work, i.e., a property of energy, but Siddhas stepped further and understood its natural form. The questions ‘where does the energy come from?’ and ‘why did it come about in the first place?’ are placed beyond our imagination and conception. We have heard of the energy in different names too – aether, dark energy and so on.
The energy is said to have some properties of its own – omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience, etc. – which means it is present throughout reality and is capable of transformation into any state. Some other characteristics like formlessness, potential, inexhaustibility, gravity and time are also said to be possessed by energy.
In its ‘pure’ state, the energy doesn’t have any form, shape or structure, but it has the potential to transform into matter, produce a force and be naturally causative.
