The soul as we know is a constantly oscillating energy field. The oscillation can be because of the body expending more energy for work or absorbing the nutrients and energy from food, or any other process.
The energy field is constantly balanced to a normal level by regular intake and expenditure of food. However, large or strong the field might be, a minimum critical level of energy must be maintained by the physical body to sustain the soul. When the physical body expends too much energy and reaches the critical level, a state of weakness sets in.
This, we observe as being exhausted. When energy is expended even after reaching the critical level, the result would be death! Usually, the energy is expended to use for the functioning of the 6 senses. We use our eyes to observe. The light from our surroundings reach our brains, and our minds form an image of our view as an electric impulse.
When we hear a sound, the ears observe the sound and records it and again, and stores it as an electric impulse. The cells making up the organs use the nutrients they absorbed to maintain their energy levels. When these organs are overused, their cells and tissues get exhausted, and they take some time to recuperate. (That is why we get tired after watching a movie; too much energy is used up)
Generally, the energy fieldโs intensity tends to vary with our mindโs emotional status. When we feel happy, our mind observes and records the present situation and tries comparing the situation with some previous memory. At this moment, the fieldโs intensity increases, with the total potential energy of the body decreasing slightly. The same happens when we feel any other emotion, but the amount of energy that is expended varies with each emotion.
Emotions like anger, sadness, fear, aggressiveness, remorse, hatred, loathing and terror, commonly known as negative emotions, drain energy at a rapid pace than positive emotions like joy, love, ecstasy, admiration, optimism and serenity. In our example, when the guy and his wife experience different emotions in a short period of time, the overlapping thoughts tend to deplete more energy from their bodies. Also, thereโs mixed emotions, when overlapping thoughts generate different emotions at the same time, leaving us in a confused state of mind!
We feel these variations in the soulโs intensity regularly. For instance, the hair-raising feeling when we get scared and the pleasantness we feel when in love are the results of our thoughts and emotions. In the time between thinking the thoughts and feeling the emotions, an interesting process takes place inside our bodies โ the secretion of hormones and their effects. We have heard of hormones like testosterone, estrogen, epinephrine and dopamine.
Some of them give positive emotions while the others, very negative ones.
Basically, hormones are packets of organic molecules having an energy field of their own. The field surrounding these molecules are more intense than our own souls. When these molecules enter our bloodstream (from the glands), they are spread across our physical bodies, and when they reach our individual cells, they shake up the cellโs energy field, causing variations in their intensity! We feel these collective variations during any emotion.
It is these variations that cause differences in the soul of every multicellular organism. The magnitudes of energy, the variations in expenditure and the rate of consumption and expenditure of energy ultimately result in the variations in the souls.
