57. Emotions/ Personality

The change in emotions with thoughts is hard to be noticed, and it is a natural phenomenon happening in a fraction of a second.

With the persistence of memories in our brains, our subconscious experiences a range of emotions. Anticipation of futures and experiencing the desired futures raises glee, joy, happiness and ecstasy, while a failure in the plans and experience of an alternate future gives us grief, and when disappointment is high, we experience rage and anger, whereas when we expect either of the futures, be it a desired one or an undesired one, there rises vigilance and anticipation.

With the knowledge of uncertainty of futures, if our subconscious neither expects nor regrets the present, it experiences serenity. And when we reach a serene state, our subconscious expresses the most powerful emotion love not as a way of expectation, but as a way of presentation!

The soul, when subjected to the variety of thoughts and emotions, goes through a lot of change in a short period of time. The influence of hormones in the physical body makes us feel the emotions generated during the thought process. When we experience a mild emotions like optimism, serenity, annoyance, etc., the soul’s intensity is minimal, and the numbers of thoughts that cross to form the mind are low, making the chain of thoughts to pass pleasantly.

But when we experience severe emotions like anger or hate or ecstasy, the soul’s intensity increases, making the brain to fire up a large number of the thoughts to cross each other at a short period of time and leading to a confused mind!

Personality

What could happen if emotions overpower the thoughts while forming a mind? We have seen, read about and heard of different types of personalities or characters in people. We have some innate characteristics that differentiate us from others. The experiences we add up in our brains give rise to our thoughts. The thoughts lead to the mind and a form of stability sets inside our heads. However, when the emotions we experience during the thought process result in a newer set of thoughts, some of which we have never experienced before, a new mind can be seen to evolve alongside our original mind! This new mind is, however, short-lived, since our emotional status changes after some time.

But, if the emotional experience is deeper than usual, the thoughts that rise will be of longer duration, and the new mind persists longer than usual, side-by-side with the original mind. Such occurrence of
2 minds have been heard of as
split personalities
, with each mind having a set of thoughts, habits, and characters influencing the physical body in their own way. If in case there occurs multiple sets of minds (each with a different thought process) in the same brain, we call that situation a multiple personality disorder!

The emotions don’t just affect the mind, but the physical body too. The hormones affecting our physical body (when we feel emotions) go askew when we develop extreme mental conditions. Hormonal imbalance is a common problem these days, and we think it is because of our changing food habits alone. But actually, our minds play a part too! A little change in endomorphin or oxytocin can greatly affect our happiness and imagine if our way of thinking and our lifestyles gradually bring down these hormone levels.

Having a healthy set of thoughts is crucial in our lives. With a multitude of thoughts forming every second and a range of emotions influencing them, it is very, very hard indeed to focus on the present and it is not our fault too. Considering the history of multicellular life forms, our evolution and existence on Earth is confined to a very short period of time. The windows of subconscious having expanded at an exponential level it is doubtful whether our brains are fully developed yet to handle the sixth sense effectively.

  • Save

The true sign of a fully developed sixth sense is when a person has complete control over his thought process and focusing his mind to shape up thoughts about his future. So far, only a few people in the world have managed to do so, and it will be a long time before our entire species learns the process. Only upon reaching that level of maturity can we step forward into evolving further.

So, emotions and thoughts together make up a healthy mind, and people are serious when they say thoughts shape our lives!
