From our understanding of thoughts and emotions, we can say that consciousness as a factor emerged out of a closed system of energy, bound within a physical body.
The chance for consciousness to exist after death is improbable and impossible. This also means there can’t be a conscious entity outside in the energy medium, since the entity will need a physical body to exist. The sixth sense which evolved to understand time’s flow has the natural boundaries of birth and death. Any information about reality before our birth and after our death can only be studied, imagined or heard about and then visualised in our minds. The actual picture of how the reality changes with time, is hard to be accessed by a single living being, no matter how much evolved it is (like us, six-sensed humans).
There is so much information spread across the space-time, that a single person can’t collect and surmise the entire information about it in his or her lifetime. Understanding all this requires ‘life’ as a process has to keep on going, and study reality forever. Along the way, there happens the evolution of the senses, where the physical and the astral bodies evolve better to understand reality than they did before.
We saw how each sense had evolved to understand each effect of energy, with the sixth sense evolving to understand its ultimate effect, time. In such a case, what other effect of energy has been left out for the six-sensed humans to evolve into? Is there even a chance for seven-sensed organisms to evolve? Is there a possibility we might evolve the seventh sense? If yes, what would it turn us into?
Some spiritual philosophers say that the 6 senses are enough to study the reality in its full form. But what bothers us now is that there are so many suppositions involved in our study of reality that obtaining a clear picture of its beginning and end (using the 6 senses) seems to be a hard task. This very chapter is just a hypothesis, and the Big Bang and evolution are theories with proofs, but the actual picture (facts) of energy and the reality might be much more complex than we can ever imagine! With so much to know about and only 5 percent of the universe understood so far by the physicists, it’s as Werner Heisenberg said, “Not only is the universe stranger than we think, it is stranger than we can think.”
Taking science’s side, let’s say evolution doesn’t stop and goes on to produce the seventh sense. How and what could the sense be about? What if the seventh sense enables the life form to observe energy in its ‘pure’ state? Just like the sixth sense can observe the time continuum but not alter it, can the seventh sense make an organism observe energy and its workings without altering its flow, momentum, form, etc.? Some say a few human beings have already stepped forward to achieve the seventh sense. Stories about people who’ve gained control over their inherent energy, converting it into force and manipulating the space around them, are regularly heard of, and we dismiss them as urban legends.
On the other side, in the well-known martial art Tai-Chi, a person trains to focus his energy on any point in his body and manages to convert his energy into a force that can be expelled out. This makes us question, what if the process had already started, and just like every other sense, evolved in the past?
Only time can tell and let’s hope we as a species live long enough to complete the change!
